How We Helped

Manual handling and back safety aren’t the most interesting topics, but it is some of the most important information for your staff to understand.

Learning Design

We developed this course with a clear understanding of the adult learning principles (Andragogy).

Without going into too much detail we:

  • kept the content to what they needed to know
  • built on their past experience
  • focused on how this content can help them
  • used real-world experience, and
  • added a focus on problem-solving.

Interactive Elements

Using Articulate Storyline we created multiple choice quizzes, hotspots, click-to-reveal, flashcards and sorting activities to ensure the staff were kept engaged and interested in the content. We used interactives to pace their learning, ensuring they understood the content before moving on to the next stage.

Content Development/ Instructional Design

We worked with SMEs to identify what the learning outcomes and needs were for the staff. We then helped structure the content to meet those outcomes.

Assessments

In order to ensure the staff understand how to lift correctly, we created a short quiz at the end of the module. The staff needed to attain a 100% pass mark to be signed off.

Where learners did not get the correct answer, additional reading and content was provided to ensure they understood the correct practices.
