Change Management

Simulations

Change management is crucial, especially during disruptive events like COVID-19. This course includes simulations on managing change in hospitals during the pandemic, created in collaboration with subject matter experts. The simulations aim to provide an engaging, immersive experience for learners to develop practical change management skills through realistic scenarios and decision-making opportunities.

The purpose of these simulations was to create a more engaging experience for the learner.

A little on how we helped

While developing the simulations, we kept the focus on keeping the content digestible, authentic, relevant, visual and engaging.

Learning Design

Using adult learning principles we created simulations that:

  • used real-world scenarios.
  • are relevant and practical to the learner.
  • required class discussion and peer collaboration.
  • utilised previous knowledge and experiences.

Immersive Elements

We designed this simulation to be immersive and authentic. We worked with an SME to build a strong and realistic narrative, had staff record audio conversations and used real news clips and videos.

Assessments

A core aspect of change management is communication and discussion with stakeholders. In order to foster this, we created reflection-based questions and open forums.

Open forums and discussion boards were used at the end of the simulations to allow students to discuss their actions.
