A university business faculty sought to enhance engagement within a fully online undergraduate change management subject. Existing theory heavy approaches risked feeling abstract and disconnected from real world leadership challenges. The objective was to increase student engagement, improve applied understanding of change management frameworks, and better prepare students for leading organisational change in complex environments.
eLearning Solutions partnered with academic subject matter experts to design a newly developed, immersive learning experience embedded within the broader subject.
We created a structured, story led simulation set during a period of significant organisational disruption inspired by real world events. Students stepped into a leadership role and navigated a series of realistic scenarios requiring them to apply change management models in context.

By embedding academic models within a cohesive narrative, we transformed complex concepts into practical leadership decisions. The experience concluded with a multiple choice assessment to reinforce understanding and evaluate learner comprehension.
The immersive design generated high levels of engagement across the cohort, with students providing strongly positive feedback about the relevance and interactivity of the experience.
Learners reported greater clarity in how change management theory translates into real organisational practice, as well as increased confidence in applying leadership frameworks to uncertain and high pressure situations.
This project demonstrates how thoughtfully designed digital learning can move beyond content delivery to create meaningful, applied educational experiences at scale.
